• Developing software agents to help people in real-world interactions.

• Using a person's everyday data sources (e.g., conversations) to anticipate her needs, schedule and deliver reminders, and give useful, just-in-time, suggestions.

• Designing and measuring technologies that can ``disappear'' from our conscious awareness.
